‘Good’, starring David Tennant, sets new West End dates
C. P. Taylor’s play will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
After performances were cancelled in 2020 and 2021, Good will open in the West End later this year. David Tennant will star in Good at the Harold Pinter Theatre, with performances from 6 October to 24 December.
C. P. Taylor’s Good tells the story of John Halder, a German professor who progresses through the ranks of the SS. As his morals and ambition comes into question, his life is altered drastically during World War Two. The Good play is considered to be a seminal World War Two play.
David Tennant will play John Halder in Good. His West End credits include Don Juan in Soho and Much Ado About Nothing. Tennant is best known for playing the Doctor in Doctor Who. Find out more about Doctor Who actors in the West End.
The Olivier-winning actor Elliot Levey will play Maurice. He’s currently starring in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. Further casting will be announced at a later date.
Dominic Cooke directs Good at the Harold Pinter Theatre. A further creative team will be revealed.
Who will David Tennant play in Good?
David Tennant will play the literary professor John Halder in Good. At the start of the play, Halder has liberal views for a progressive society, but as he's swept up in Nazi politics, he embraces radical ideas.
