Joe Sugg to make West End debut in Waitress tonight

YouTuber and 2018 Strictly Come Dancing contestant Joe Sugg will join the West End company of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre tonight, making his West End debut.

Best known for creating YouTube video, Sugg has amassed over 8 million subscribers as well as a Netflix travel series with fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee. Sugg will take over the role of Ogie from Blake Harrison, who played his final performance on 7th September.

Alongside Joe Sugg as Ogie, Tamlyn Henderson will also make his West End Waitress debut as Earl, with Cindy Belliott joining the ensemble.

The cast is completed by Lucie Jones as Jenna, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Marisha Wallace as Becky, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter, Andrew Boyer as Old Joe,  Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Michael Hamway, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O'Connor, Leanne Pinder, Charlotte Riby, and Mark Willshire.

Sugg will also host the next cast album karaoke with co-star Marisha Wallace on 25th September.

Based on the 2007 film by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress follows the story of Jenna Hunterson, a small-town waitress who unexpectedly discovers she is pregnant. Upon learning of a pie-making competition in a nearby town, she enters in the hope of receiving a cash prize for a new life.

The musical features an original soundtrack by Sara Bareilles, with songs including 'She Used To Be Mine' and 'Opening Up'.

Waitress is at the Adelphi Theatre, with Joe Sugg joining the cast from 9th September.
