Joel Harper-Jackson has stepped into the role of M full-time in the production of Mike Bartlett's COCK at the Ambassadors Theatre. Harper-Jackson stars alongside Jonathan Bailey as John in Bartlett's incisive play about gender, sexuality, and relationships.

Harper-Jackson takes over for Taron Egerton, who originated the role and is leaving the production for personal reasons. Harper-Jackson has been playing the role for the past 10 days since Egerton tested positive for Covid-19.

"Joel is an absolute hero," director Marianne Elliot said in a statement. "He is a brilliant and gifted actor and stepped into the role at extremely short notice. Audiences have been standing and cheering and so am I."

"Joel is an immense talent and we couldn’t be luckier to have him on board," Bailey added in a statement. "I am proud to continue sharing the stage with him."

The cast also includes Jade Anouka as W and Phil Daniels as F. COCK is running at the Ambassadors Theatre through 4 June.
