Linzi Hateley to reprise role of Narrator in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’
She first played the role 30 years ago at the London Palladium.
Linzi Hateley will return to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for the first time in three decades, reprising the role of the Narrator. Linzi Hateley will star in certain performances throughout the summer engagement, running at the London Palladium from 1 July - 5 September.
Hateley will give several guest performances during the Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat run, reprising her Olivier Award-nominated role. She will reunite with Jason Donovan, who played Joseph in the 1991 production at the London Palladium.
Producer Michael Harrison said of Hateley's casting: "To now have the added bonus of Linzi playing the role at special performances - and to reunite her with Jason Donovan again at the London Palladium - turns Joseph into a dream ticket. The combination of nostalgia for the original Palladium production, coupled with the excitement of our new critically acclaimed version, means we all have a summer to look forward to."
Alexandra Burke will play the Narrator for all other performances. Burke has previously been in West End shows including Chess, The Bodyguard and Chicago. Jason Donovan plays the Pharaoh, with the Olivier Award-nominated actor Jac Yarrow reprising the role of Joseph.
Further casting for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is to be announced.
