Meet the London cast of ‘A Little Life’, including James Norton
James Norton, Luke Thompson, Omari Douglas, and Zach Wyatt star in 'A Little Life'. The play runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and then transfers to the Savoy Theatre.
Ivo van Hove will direct the stage adaptation of Hanya Yanigahara’s award-winning novel, A Little Life. The bruising story follows four college friends as their lives intertwine in New York and secrets come to light.
As well as a cracking creative team, there's an equally powerful cast too, including two BAFTA-nominated actors James Norton and Omari Douglas, as well as Bridgerton star Luke Thompson and The Witcher's Zach Wyatt. These familiar stage and screen actors all join forces for the most-anticipated play of 2023.

James Norton plays Jude
James Norton is a BAFTA-nominated actor. He's best known for his TV work in Happy Valley as ex-convict Tommy Lee Royce, and in Grantchester as vicar Sidney Chambers.
On stage, Norton made his London debut in the original cast of Laura Wade’s Posh, starring alongside Kit Harington, Harry Hadden-Paton, and Simon Shepherd. He then appeared in Journey’s End at the Duke of York’s Theatre, and Belleville at the Donmar Warehouse. James Norton will play Jude in A Little Life.
Luke Thompson plays Willem
Luke Thompson is most recognisable for playing Benedict Bridgerton in the hit Netflix series, Bridgerton. He's one of many stage actors in the show, including Jonathan Bailey, Adjoa Andoh, and Nicola Coughlan. Read more about Bridgerton actors in the West End.
Thompson made an impact in the West End from the get-go too — his debut in A Midsummer Night’s Dream earned a nomination for Most Promising Newcomer. He’s since starred in The Oresteia and Hamlet at the Almeida Theatre, and the Ian McKellen-led King Lear at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Luke Thompson will play Willem in A Little Life.
Omari Douglas plays JB
2021 was a busy year for Omari Douglas. The BAFTA-nominated actor played Roscoe in Russell T. Davies’s It’s a Sin, gave an Olivier-nominated performance in Constellations opposite Russell Tovey, and then took on the role of Cliff Bradshaw in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. Omari Douglas continues this momentum, playing JB in A Litlle Life.
Zach Wyatt plays Malcolm
Zach Wyatt will soon star as Syndril in the Netflix fantasy series, The Witcher: Blood Origin. He made his stage debut in I and You at the Hampstead Theatre opposite Game of Thrones star Maisie Wiliams. He’s a regular at Shakespeare’s Globe too, appearing in 2019 productions of Bartholomew Fair and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Zach Wyatt will play Malcolm in A Little Life.
Zubin Varla plays Harold
If you’ve seen a London show in recent years, chances are you saw Zubin Varla on stage. His notable credits include Tammy Faye at the Almeida Theatre, Fun Home at the Young Vic, War Horse at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, as well as productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company and at the National Theatre. Zubin Varla will play Harold in A Little Life.
Nathalie Armin plays Ana
Armin makes her West End debut in A Little Life. She’s previously starred in National Theatre shows including Dara, Anna, and Behind the Beautiful Forevers. She's also appeared in notable off-West End shows too: Force Majeure at the Donmar Warehouse, and The Doctor at the Almeida Theatre. Nathalie Armin will play Ana in A Little Life.
Emilio Doorgasingh plays Andy
Doorgasingh is no stranger to starring in book adaptations: he played Baba in the stage production of The Kite Runner. Prior to A Litle Life, he starred in Best of Enemies at the Young Vic, and in the West End transfer. Emilio Doorgasingh will play Andy in A Little Life.
Elliot Cowan multi-roles in A Little Life
Cowan was part of the second 2:22 - A Ghost Story West End cast, alongside James Buckley, Stephanie Beatriz, and Giovanna Fletcher. His long list of play appearances include An Ideal Husband at the Vaudeville Theatre, Macbeth at Shakespeare’s Globe, and Shipwreck at the Almeida Theatre. In A Little Life, Elliot Cowan will multi-role as Brother Luke/Doctor Traylor/Caleb.
