The full casting for the world premiere of Metamorphoses at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse has been revealed, with performances starting in a fortnight's time. Metamorphoses runs from 30 September - 30 October, with tickets on sale now.

Metamorphoses is inspired by the Greek myths told in Ovid's stories, which were written over 2,000 years ago. Metamorphoses is written as a bespoke piece for the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, created collectively by Sami Ibrahim, Laura Lomas and Sabrina Mahfouz.

The Metamorphoses cast is completed by Steffan Donnelly, Fiona Hampton, Charlie Josephine and Irfan Shamji. Speaking about the new work, Shakespeare's Globe artistic director Michelle Terry said: "This re-imagining of Metamorphoses will explore our boundless capacity for love, cruelty and transformation, as this extraordinary company rewrite fables past, through the lens of our topsy-turvy present, with an eye on our mythically unpredictable future. They cannot help but entertain, comfort and inspire as they go."

Metamorphoses is co-directed by Sean Holmes and Holly Race Roughan. Design is by Grace Smart, with Simeon Miller as an interestingly titled candle consultant.

A winter season at Sam Wanamaker Playhouse has also been confirmed, with shows including Measure for Measure, Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice and The Fir Tree. Read more about the upcoming season here.
