New lead actors have been announced for the cast of Hadestown in the West End. The performers will take over from 27 August at the Lyric Theatre.
The role of Orpheus will be played by Dylan Wood (Orphans, No Love Songs), who makes his West End debut, while Madeline Charlemagne, who has been playing a Fate since Hadestown opened in the West End, will step into the role of Eurydice.
The roles of Orpheus and Eurydice have been played by Dónal Finn and Grace Hodgett-Young since Hadestown opened in the West End in February 2024.
The Tony Award-winning musical follows two interwoven tales of fraught love in an innovative retelling of an ancient Greek myth. The musical is penned by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin.
Francessca Daniella-Baker (My Fair Lady) will replace Charlemagne as one of the three Fates. She will play alongside Bella Brown and Allie Daniel. They join Zachary James as Hades, Melanie La Barrie as Hermes, and Gloria Onitiri as Persephone, who continue in their roles.
