Bradley Gibson to make West End debut in 'Hercules'

With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, and a book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, new musical Hercules tells the story of a demi-god who must prove himself to return to the gods living on Mount Olympus.

Bradley Gibson to make his West End debut as Hercules in the hit musical, which is running at Theatre Royal Drury Lane through 5 September.

Gibson originated the role in the world premiere production of Hercules in New Jersey in 2023.

Gibson said, “What an honour to step back into the role of Hercules which I had the enormous privilege of originating back home. To come full circle with this epic production, and make my West End debut at the glorious Theatre Royal Drury Lane is an absolute dream come true.”

With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, and a book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, new musical Hercules tells the story of a demi-god who must prove himself to return to the gods living on Mount Olympus. The show, which inspired by the 1997 animated film of the same name, has direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw, with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott.

The rest of the creative team includes scenic and ddditional video design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, special effects design by Jeremy Chernick, dance music arrangements by David Chase, hair and wig design by Mia M. Neal, make-up design by Kirk Cambridge- Del Pesche, music supervisor and arranger Michael Kosarin, orchestrations by Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert, and dance arrangements by David Chase.
