‘Once on This Island,’ starring Gabrielle Brooks, reveals full casting

The Olivier-nominated actress will play Ti Moune, a pleasant girl who must please the gods. Once on This Island starts this year's Regent's Park Open Air Theatre season.

The gods heard our prayers! Find out the full Once on This Island cast, with previews at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 10 May, ahead of an opening night on 17 May, and performances to 10 June.

When peasant girl, Ti Moune, falls in love with local wealthy man, Daniel Beauxhomme, the pair strike up an unlikely friendship. Ti Moune must convince the Gods to prove that love is more powerful than death.

Gabrielle Brooks and Stephenson Ardern-Sodje will play Ti Moune and Daniel, alongside Anelisa Lamola as Asaka, Ashley Samuels as Agwe, Emilie Louise Israel as Erzulie, Lejaun Sheppard as Papa Ge, Courtney-Mae Briggs as Andrea, Jonathon Grant as Armand, Chris Jarman as Tonton, Natasha Magigi as Mama Euralie, Bernadette Bangura, Hanna Dimtsu, Nay-Nay, Cassandra Lee, Cherece Richards, Mikel Sylvanus, and Marco Titus.

Janai Bartlett, Lexi Kowlessar, Nesisa Mhindu, Kirsten Muzvuru, Nielle Springer, and Olivia St Louis will share the role of young Ti Moune.

Ola Ince directs Lynn Ahren and Stephen Flaherty’s musical, with set design by Georgia Lowe, costume design by Melissa Simon-Hartman, lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun, sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph, and choreography by Kenrick 'H20' Sandy.

Upcoming shows at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre include adaptations of Robin Hood and The Tempest, as well as La Cage Aux Folles.
