After appearing in the Broadway production together for a four-week engagement, Sara Bareilles and Gavin Creel first performed in the West End transfer of Waitress on 20th January 2020. The pair will now continue performing in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre to 21st March.

About Waitress

Based on a 2007 film by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress tells the story of small-town waitress and pie maker Jenna Hunterson, who falls in love with her gynaecologist, Dr. Pomatter, while she's pregnant. To start a new life for her and her child, she enters a baking competition to win a cash prize. Waitress features an original score by Grammy Award-nominated artist Sara Bareilles, with songs including "She Used To Be Mine" and "The Negative".

In a feature for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Tom Millward said Bareilles' "irresistible mezzo-soprano vocals evoke a wistful sense of vulnerability that makes her perfect casting for the role."
