‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’ to open in the West End

The C.S. Lewis tale roars in London.

Following a nationwide tour, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe will play a West End season at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe begins previews at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 18 July, with an opening night on 28 July and performances to 8 Jan. 2023. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe tickets are on sale now.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe play is based on C.S Lewis’ popular tale in the Narnia series. The story follows the Pevensie children, Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they step through a wardrobe to Narnia, a fantasy world. While in Narnia, they meet Mr. Tumnus, a lion named Aslan, and contend with the white witch.

Samantha Womack will play the white witch in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. The Eastenders actress previously starred in The Girl on the Train, South Pacific and Guys and Dolls. Full casting is to be announced.

Michael Fentiman directs The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, based on a production by Sally Cookson. The show features set and costume design by Tom Paris, composition by Benji Bower and Barnaby Race, choreography by Shannelle ‘Tali’ Fergus, lighting design by Jack Knowles, sound design by Ian Dickinson and Gareth Tucker for Autograph, puppetry direction by Toby Olié and puppetry design by Max Humphries.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.
