The West End production of Waitress will close at the Adelphi Theatre next year. After the musical's official opening on 7th March 2019, Waitress will play its final performance on 4th July 2020.

Based on Adrienne Shelly's 2007 movie of the same name, Waitress tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, whose pie-making hobby sees her enter a competition to win a large cash prize to start a new life.

The musical features an original score by Sara Bareilles, who will make her West End debut as Jenna in Waitress next year. She will star alongside Gavin Creel as Dr. Pomatter for a limited engagement of six weeks from 26th January 2020.

The current cast of Waitress stars Lucie Jones as Jenna Hunterson, Sandra Marvin as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Joe Sugg as Ogie, Tamlyn Henderson as Earl, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Andrew Boyer as Old Joe.

On 2nd December, Joel Montague will take over the role of Ogie, with Hannah Tointon taking over the role of Dawn.

In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Mark Shenton praised the show's "heartfelt and personal" qualities, saying Waitress "is a small show with a big heart".

Following the show's West End engagement, Waitress will embark on a national tour, with details on the tour to be announced.

Waitress is at the Adelphi Theatre to 4th July 2020.
