During Christmas 2020, West End theatregoers were looking forward to West End Musical Christmas. However, the production will now go ahead in May, instead called West End Musical Celebration. Six performances will take place at the Palace Theatre, staged from 6 - 9 May.

Hailed as "the perfect way for musical fans to celebrate the return of live theatre together in 2021", West End stars will perform iconic songs from musicals over the years. During performances, audience members will be invited to become the cast, taking part in sections of the concert.

Casting is to be confirmed. The West End Musical Christmas line-up included Sophie Evans, Alice Fearn, Ben Forster, Shanay Holmes, Rachel John, Jamie Muscato, Trevor Dion Nicholas and Layton Williams, so we could expect to see them perform as part of West End Musical Celebration.

Tom Jackson Greaves will direct and choreograph the production, with lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Rob Bettle and costume design by Faye Young.

The Palace Theatre is currently home to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which is expected to return in July 2021.

West End Musical Celebration is at the Palace Theatre from 6 - 9 May.
