
Sienna Miller was born in New York City but moved to London with her family when she was one. Studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, she made her film debut in 2001 alongside Rupert Everett in South Kensington.
Her career really took off in 2004 with the remake of Alfie starring Jude Law and in the same year same year she appeared in the role of Tammy in Layer Cake directed by Matthew Vaughn. She made her West End debut in 2005 in a revival of As You Like It, and in the same year played the female lead in Casanova with Heath Ledger in the title role.
Her other film credits include Factory Girl in 2006, Stardust in 2007 and in 2008 she portrayed Dylan Thomas’ wife Caitlin in the biopic The Edge of Love alongside her friend Keira Knightley. Other high profile film credits include Foxcatcher and American Sniper, both Academy Award-nominated pictures in 2015.
Her Broadway credits include the role of Miss Julie in After Miss Julie at the American Airlines Theatre for the Roundabout Theatre Company in 2009, and she was invited back by the company to perform on Broadway in 2015 as a replacement to Emma Stone in the Broadway revival of Cabaret, portraying Sally Bowles for the final weeks of the production’s run.
Her most recent West End appearance was the 2011 revival of Flare Path, where she played the role of Patricia alongside Sheridan Smith. Read a Flare Path review starring Sienna Miller here.
