Kit Harington and Johnny Flynn star in a new production of Sam Shepard's blistering play True West, for a limited season at the Vaudeville Theatre which opened in London's West End on 23rd November. Tickets are on sale for True West now.
Shepard's play is about a Hollywood screenwriter named Austin who is researching a film set in, and his brother Lee, a drifter who burgles homes for a living. They reunite for the first time in half a decade in their mother's home in California. Over the course of the play, Lee pushes Austin to the edge of a mental breakdown.
Kit Harington, who is best known for playing Jon Snow in the television phenomenon Game of Thrones, will play screenwriter Austin. Harington has an extensive stage career having made his debut in the National Theatre production of War Horse, which eventually transferred to the West End. He has also appeared in Posh at the Royal Court, The Vote at the Donmar Warehouse and Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's.
Johnny Flynn is known for playing Dylan in the Netflix sitcom Lovesick, and is also a renowned singer-songwriter. On stage, he most recently appeared in Martin McDonagh's Hangmen at the Royal Court. He was nominated for an Olivier Award for his role in Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem.
