Don't panic! Douglas Adams' iconic sci-fi comedy The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy comes to Riverside Studios this November in a spectacular new live adaptation. Book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy tickets on London Theatre.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in London tells the story of Arthur Dent. Seconds before Earth is destroyed to make way for an intergalactic bypass, Dent escapes to space with his best friend, Ford Prefect, who just so happens to be from another planet. Their space-fueled hitchhiking journey quickly spirals into a riotous experience involving two-headed presidents, robots, dolphins, and a few very confused mice.
This immersive experience begins in an unusual pub, where the world's end is met with a round of drinks. From there, audiences are swept through the galaxy in a show that masterfully blends theatre and magic. It's part sci-fi spectacular and part existential crisis, and entirely Douglas Adams.
Adapted by Adams' former protégé Arvind Ethan David, this spectacular live version reimagines the beloved radio series, novel, and cult film for a new stage adaptation. Boasting a stellar cast of actors and pre-recorded celebrity voices, including Tamsin Greig, Lenora Crichlow, and Sanjeev Bhaskar, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a play that brings Adams' surreal universe to life like we've never seen before.
With co-directors Simon Evans (Staged, Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright), Georgia Clarke-Day (Monopoly Lifesized, The Traitors: Live Experience), and David Frias-Robles (Taskmaster: The Live Experience, Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright), costume design by Susan Kulkarni, lighting design by Aiden Bromley, and sound design and composing by Ed Lewis, this creative team helps make this night one audiences won't forget.
This performance is more than a revival. Under its dazzling design and quick humour is the unmistakable heart of Douglas Adams. This is a story about humanity and our relentless search for meaning —grab your towel and enjoy the ride.
