How are London audiences responding to Oh, Mary!?
The reception has been so overwhelming! Audiences have been wildly responsive to the play - they really get it. It’s so wonderful to feel everyone in the theatre eagerly come along on this wild ride with us; cackling, hooting, and howling all the way.
You are best known for your TV work, how are you adjusting to this play?
From the moment I heard about Oh, Mary! it became my mission to be a part of it. At my core I am a big weirdo, and very much a clown, but it’s rare that I get to flex those muscles in my work. So, stepping into this role has been so incredibly liberating, and in many ways, it’s felt like coming home.

What is the secret to acting in a comedy like this?
As far as we’re concerned, this is a very serious play. I think the genius of Oh, Mary! is that every character is genuinely striving for something, amidst a ridiculous set of circumstances, opposite an absurd group of characters - as soon as you try to play the comedy, it loses its magic. Trusting the text and telling the story is key; it’s all there in Cole’s impeccably stupid writing.
What are you learning from sharing the stage with Mason Alexander Park?
I am having the most fun I have ever had on stage with Mason, she is an absolute demonic force! I never know what I am going to get show to show - it’s thrilling working with her, even though she regularly makes me corpse and gets me in trouble, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Her Mary is something you will never ever forget.
What are your other goals for 2026?
To hold onto my sense of joy and hope in a landscape that makes that very difficult at the moment - I think that protecting your inner peace is an essential part of protest. Use my
phone less, make my cat happy and write more letters to loved ones.
