All the West End shows appearing at the Royal Variety Performance
The Royal Variety 2024 will feature a number from new Elton John musical The Devil Wears Prada, as well as an exclusive medley from Cameron Mackintosh’s Oliver!
It's that time of year! The evenings are dark by 4pm, Christmas trees are up, and the Royal Variety Performance is back on our screens. Presented by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, the performance will return to ITV1 from 8pm on Sunday 15 December.
Every year, the Royal Variety boasts an impressive and extensive list of West End stars and shows. Casts from The Lion King, Frozen, and Crazy For You all performed last year, as well as stars such as Hannah Waddingham and Cher.
This year, there will be a number from new Elton John musical The Devil Wears Prada, starring Vanessa Williams and cast, as well as an exclusive medley from Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Oliver! and a performance from the company of Andrew Lloyd Webber's train musical Starlight Express.
As they celebrate their 40th anniversary, Cirque Du Soleil will perform a world exclusive from their Vegas show Ovo, and the English National Ballet will perform "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from their production of Nutcracker.
The Mischief Theatre team will also share a sneak preview and the first public performance of their new West End show The Comedy About Spies, which comes to the West End next year.
Marisha Wallace, who will soon take up the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, will take to the stage for a show-stopping number and also lead this year’s National Anthem, accompanied by the Fanfare Trumpeters of the Band of the Welsh Guards.

As London Fashion Week descends on the Capital, the catwalk is out for the launch of The Devil Wears Prada, a new musical, based on the blockbuster film and bestselling novel, that will strut into London’s Dominion Theatre in October 2024.

Starlight Express takes place within a nine-year old boy’s dream in which his toy trains magically come to life. Among them, there’s the fast diesel train Pacific Daylight, Bobo form France, Espresso from Italy, and Rusty, the old steam train. Along with entrants from around the world, the trains race to become the fastest train in the world.

Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s iconic musical, Oliver!, which he has fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne, is now playing in the West End.
