Bob Hoskins has died aged 71

He last appeared in the West End from Oct 2005 to Jan 2006 in As You Desire Me at the Playhouse Theatre, nearly ten years after starring in Old Wicked Songs at the Gieldgud Theatre in 1996.

Hoskins was best known for his regular appearances in films including The Long Good Friday, Mona Lisa, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mermaids, Mrs Henderson Presents and Made in Dagenham. His acting career also included many television appearances, most notably in Pennies From Heaven in 1978, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor.
