Brian Gleeson and Caitlin FitzGerald to join ‘The Crucible’ West End cast

The Peaky Blinders and Succession actors will star alongside Milly Alcock in Lyndsey Turner’s production of the Arthur Miller play this summer.

Find out the full cast for the West End transfer of The Crucible, beginning previews at the Gielgud Theatre on 7 June, with an opening night on 15 June, and performances to 2 September.

Set during the 17th-century Salem witch trials, The Crucible follows a small-town community as constant accusations of witchcraft and deceitful behaviour change the town's dynamics. As hysteria builds, a climate of fear spreads.

Brian Gleeson will play John Proctor. In 2015, Gleeson starred in The Walworth Farce alongside father Brendan Gleeson and sibling Domhnall Gleeson. Caitlin FitzGerald will play Elizabeth Proctor, alongside Milly Alcock as Abigail Williams, Ron Cook as Giles Corey, Fisayo Akinade as Reverend Hale, and Matthew Marsh as Danforth.

David Ahmad, Zoë Aldrich, Stephanie Beattie, Christopher Birch, Lucy Brindle, Raphael Bushay, Henry Everett, Grace Farrell, Nick Fletcher, Chyna-Rose Frederick, Colin Haigh, Nadine Higgin, Miya James, Ebony Jonelle, Gracie McGonigal, Alastair Parker, Tama Phethean, Amy Snudden, Joy Tan, Nia Towle, Samuel Townsend, and Tilly Tremayne also star.

Lyndsey Turner directs, with design by Es Devlin, costume design by Catherine Fay, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, and sound design by Tingying Dong (content design) and Christopher Shutt (system design).
