‘Cirque du Soleil - Kurios’ sets European premiere in 2023

The world-renowned circus company head to the Royal Albert Hall once more.

Cirque du Soleil will return to the Royal Albert Hall with the European premiere of Kurios in 2023. Cirque du Soleil KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities runs at the Royal Albert Hall from 13 January to 12 Feb. 2023. Book Cirque du Soleil - Kurios tickets on London Theatre.

Inspired by the aesthetics of the Victorian era, Kurios follows a Seeker who believes a hidden, invisible world exists under his nose. When he steps into his makeshift world, otherworldly characters turn his life upside down through poetry, humour, and curiosities.

Acts in Cirque du Soleil - Kurios include a russian cradle duo, aerial bicycles, contortions, acro nets, and human pyramids, named banquines. Kurios features 46 performers from 16 different countries.

The Royal Albert Hall hosts Cirque du Soleil performances annually. Additional steelwork is now added beneath the Royal Albert Hall's seating to strengthen the venue and allow for larger Cirque shows.

“Kurios was an absolute joy to create," said Kurios writer and director Michel Laprise. "Inspired by one of the most creative and forward-thinking periods in time, the second half of the 19th century, we created it with inventiveness in mind as a way to celebrate life and bring people together more, with the intention that the audience would reconnect with the optimism and the feeling that everything is possible."

Guy Laliberté and Jean-François Bouchard provide guidance for Kurios. The show features composition by Raphaël Beau, set design and props by Stéphane Roy, costume design by Phillipe Guillotel, choreography by Yaman Okur, Ben Potvin, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Guy Laliberté, lighting design by Martin Labrecque, and sound design by Jean-Michel Caron.
