It has been announced that Come From Away at the Phoenix Theatre will play for an extended booking period into 2020.

Inspired by real-life events in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, Come From Away dramatises the story of how 38 planes were diverted to Gander airport, as the small Canadian community welcomed in 7,000 "come from aways". The musical features an original book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, with songs including 'Me and the Sky' and 'Welcome to the Rock'.

After receiving its West End premiere in 2019, Come From Away won four Olivier Awards, including best new musical and outstanding achievement in music.

Come From Away will now play for an extended booking period through to 15th February 2020.

The cast is made up of 12 cast members who play over 80 roles between them, starring Rachel Tucker, Jenna Boyd, Nathanael Campbell, Clive Carter, Mary Doherty, Robert Hands, Helen Hobson, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Harry Morrison, Emma Salvo, David Shannon and Cat Simmons.

In a five star review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Mark Shenton said: 'It's a show with an impact that's difficult to describe: it feels like it creeps up on you unawares, before flooring you with emotion. I was just overwhelmed'.

Come From Away is at the Phoenix Theatre, with a booking period to 15th February 2020.
