Disney’s ‘Winnie the Pooh’ musical sets full London cast
This musical is sweet like honey!
Don’t miss the tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff. Disney’s Winnie the Pooh sets its full cast for its nationwide tour. The tour includes a London run at Riverside Studios, with previews from 17 March ahead of an official opening on 26 March, and performances to 21 May.
The Winnie the Pooh musical is based on A. A. Milne’s short stories. Set in the Hundred Acre Wood, join Pooh Bear, Christopher Robin, and Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Tigger, Rabbit and Owl as they go on new adventures. In a New York Theatre Guide review of Winnie the Pooh, a critic said: “With Winnie the Pooh, Disney has finally committed itself to theatre for all; whether they are children, people living with stimulation limitations, or individuals simply desiring a joyful time.”
Jake Bazel will play Winnie the Pooh. He previously took on the role in New York, and has also worked extensively with Sesame Street, and Paddington. Benjamin Durham will play Winnie the Pooh on tour.
Laura Bacon, Harry Boyd, Alex Cardall, Chloe Gentles, Lottie Grogan, and Robbie Noonan will play a variety of Winnie the Pooh characters, including Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga and Roo.
As well as new songs by A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh uses songs by the Sherman Brothers, including “The Blustery Day,” “The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers” and “Whoop-De-Dooper Bounce.” Jonathan Rockefeller develops and presents the show, and Nate Edmondson provides an original score.
