Felicia Boswell to star in ‘The Drifters Girl’

Beverley Knight plays her final performance on 2 July.

Stand by the new Faye Treadwell! Felicia Boswell will make her West End debut as the music manager, Faye Treadwell, in The Drifters Girl at the Garrick Theatre. The Drifters Girl tickets are on sale now.

Boswell will play Treadwell in The Drifters Girl from 5 July. Boswell’s Broadway credits include Shuffle Along, Motown the Musical and Memphis. Coincidentally, both Beverley Knight and Boswell played Felicia in Memphis in the West End and on Broadway respectively.

The Drifters Girl cast features Tosh Wanogho-Maud, Adam J.Bernard, Tarinn Callender and Matt Henry, who multi-role as Drifters members.

Marcus Ayton, Ashford Campbell, Ethan Davis, Vanessa Ela Young, Michael James Stewart, Alanna Leslie, Curtis Scott are The Drifters Girl understudies. The young actors are Aurora Baptiste, Amari Brown, Savanna Musoni, Savannah Skinner-Henry and Shanyia Tsoto.

Knight will leave The Drifters Girl on 2 July. She will then play Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act at the Eventim Apollo.

The Drifters Girl musical tells the story of how the 1950s vocal backing group, The Drifters, became international superstars. The Drifters centres on how their manager Faye Treadwell helped the band’s career, while navigating public and private issues.

Jonathan Church directs The Drifters Girl, which features an original story based on an idea by Tina Treadwell and a book by Ed Curtis. Set design is by Anthony Ward, with choreography by Karen Bruce, costume design by Fay Fullerton, lighting design by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Tom Marshall.

The Drifters Girl is at the Garrick Theatre.
