Noises Off is a play-within-a-play that follows a touring theatre company as they try to stage a farce play, Nothing On. Each act sees the company at a different moment in the production: the final rehearsals, a matinee performance, and their final performance in Stockton-on-Tees.

Michael Frayn penned Noises Off after watching a performance of The Two of Us in 1970, starring Richard Briers and Lynn Redgrave. Noises Off in 2023 celebrates the play’s 40th anniversary. Noises Off was last revived in London in 2019, starring Meera Syal.

Lindsay Posner directs Felicity Kendal as Dotty Otley, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Belinda Blair, Matthew Kelly as Selsdon Mowbray, Alexander Hanson as Lloyd Dallas, Joseph Millson as Garry Lejeune, Sasha Frost as Brooke Ashton, Pepter Lunkuse as Poppy Norton Taylor and Jonathan Coy as Fredrick Fellows.

The show features design by Simon Higlett, lighting design by Paul Pyant, sound design by Greg Clarke.

Noises Off is at the Phoenix Theatre.
