See the star-studded 40th anniversary of Michael Frayn’s [*Noises Off*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/26701-noises-off) in the West End in 2023. *Noises Off* begins previews at the [Phoenix Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/phoenix-theatre) on 19 January, ahead of an opening night on 25 January and performances to 11 Mar. 2023. *Noises Off* is a play-within-a-play that follows a touring theatre company as they try to stage a farce play, Nothing On. Each act sees the company at a different moment in the production: the final rehearsals, a matinee performance, and their final performance in Stockton-on-Tees.

Michael Frayn penned *Noises Off* after watching a performance of The Two of Us in 1970, starring Richard Briers and Lynn Redgrave. Noises Off in 2023 celebrates the play’s 40th anniversary. *Noises Off* was last revived in London in 2019, starring Meera Syal.

Michael Frayn’s comedy started at Lyric Hammersmith in 1982 and soon took over the West End. *Noises Off* ran at the Savoy Theatre for five years and won an Olivier Award for Best Comedy. *Noises Off* returned to the Lyric Hammersmith — and eventually a West End transfer — in 2019, featuring Meera Syal as Dotty Otley. Forty years after its first performance, *Noises Off* in London celebrated its milestone anniversary at the Phoenix Theatre at the beginning of 2023, and will return to the West End for a limited run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

- Felicity Kendal will play Dotty Otley. *The Good Life* star appears in her second West End show in two years — she also played Evangeline Harcourt in *Anything Goes*.

Theatre Royal Haymarket - TodayTix

## Theatre Royal Haymarket Seating Information

The auditorium has four levels - Stalls, Royal Circle, Upper Circle and Gallery.

The seating in the Stalls is very good, particularly as the overhang of the Dress Circle only really affects the view from Row V onwards. 

The Royal Circle offers an excellent view of the stage – the overhang of the Upper Circle doesn’t affect the view from any seat.

Seats in the Upper Circle curve towards the stage at the sides, and do not offer great legroom but views are pretty good for the price on offer.

The Gallery feels far from the stage.
