Fiddler on the Roof sets West End closing date
Trevor Nunn's production of Fiddler on the Roof has extended for a final time in the West End, where it is running at the Playhouse Theatre.
Having premiered at the Menier Chocolate Factory in November 2018, it has been announced that the musical will play its final performance on 2nd November.
With a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, the classic musical features the songs "Tradition" and "If I Was a Rich Man".
The lead role of Tevye is played by Andy Nyman, who transferred with the production from the Menier. The cast also currently includes Maria Friedman and Anita Dobson in the roles of Golde and Yente.
In a five-star review of the production, Mark Shenton said: 'This is a gorgeous production of a simply glorious musical.'
Fiddler on the Roof is at the Playhouse Theatre until 2nd November.
