Full cast announced for 'The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical'

The rock musical first premiered off-Broadway in 2014 and went on to have two US tours. It opens at London's The Other Palace on 22 November.

The full cast has been announced for The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical at London's The Other Palace, which begins performances on 22 November.

Joining the previously announced Max Harwood as Percy Jackson, Scott Folan as Grover and Jessica Lee as Annabeth are Paisley Billings (SIX) as Sally Jackson, Greg Barnett (The Duchess of Malfi) as Mr Brunner/Poseidon/Hades, Joe Allen (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory) as Mr D/Gabe, Samantha Mbolekwa (Dear Evan Hansen) as Clarisse, and Joaquin Pedro Valdes (Heathers The Musical) as Luke/Ares.

The ensemble members include Philip Catchpole (The Book of Mormon), Morgan Gregory (Newsies), Charlotte O’Rourke (Cruel Intentions), and Alex Waxman, who makes her professional stage debut.

The creative team includes set and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight (My Son’s A Queer), lighting design by Charlie Morgan Jones (Derren Brown – Showman), sound design by Dominic Bilkey (The Lehman Trilogy), video design by Duncan McLean (Shrek The Musical), illusions by Richard Pinner (Here You Come Again), fight direction by Lisa Connell (Heathers), puppet direction by Laura Cubitt (A Monster Calls), musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton (Heathers), and musical direction by Ben McQuigg (The Power of Camelot).

The rock musical first premiered off-Broadway in 2014 and follows New York teenager Percy Jackson, who must fulfil his destiny after learning he is the half-blood son of the Greek god, Poseidon.
