Full cast announced for West End transfer of ‘Standing at the Sky’s Edge’

The Sheffield-based musical, which follows three families living on the same housing estate over 60 years, has a book by Chris Bush and music by Richard Hawley.

The full cast has been revealed for Chris Bush’s musical Standing at the Sky’s Edge, which opens at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 8 February.

Joining the previously announced cast are Jonathan Andre (Macbeth, The Lion King) as Max, Jonathon Bentley (From Here to Eternity, Mamma Mia!) as Gary, Mya Fox-Scott in her professional debut as Jenny, and Lillie-Pearl Wildman (Sunset Boulevard, Cabaret) as Justine.

Rachael Louise Miller (Les Misérables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat), Adam Price (Privates on Parade, Hairspray), Nicola Sloane (Backstairs Billy, London Road), and David McKechnie (Flowers for Mrs Harris, Stepping Out) will reprise their roles.

Monique Ashe-Palmer, Adam Colbeck-Dunn, Viquichele Cross, Jamie Doncaster, Caroline Fitzgerald, Jerome Lincoln, Sean McLevy, and Karen Wilkinson also join the cast.

Alayna Anderson, Luca Foster-Lejeune, Renee Hart, Eric Madgwick, Chioma Nduka, and Sam Stocks make up the young company.

The musical has a book by Chris Bush, music by Sheffield-born singer-songwriter Richard Hawley, and Robert Hastie will direct. The creative team also includes set and costume designer Ben Stones, choreographer Lynne Page, orchestra and arranger Tom Deering, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Bobby Aitken, and hair and make-up designer Cynthia De La Rosa.

Set over 60 years at Sheffield's Park Hill estate, the musical weaves together the lives of three families living in the same flat across different decades. The show was awarded Best New Musical and Best Original Score or New Orchestrations at the Olivier Awards in 2023.
