Initial casting set for 'Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical'

Starring as Sandy is Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream semi-finalist Stephanie Costi, while Danny's best friend Kenickie will be played by Liam Buckland and Rizzo will be played by Lucy Penrose.

Secret Cinema and TodayTix have revealed three of the cast members joining their summer production Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical.

Starring as Sandy is Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream semi-finalist Stephanie Costi, while Danny's best friend Kenickie will be played by Liam Buckland (Mean Girls) and Rizzo will be played by Lucy Penrose, who starred in the role during the immersive production of the show in Birmingham.

For the very first time, the entire film will be brought to life, as the line between screen and reality is blurred during a two-and-a-half-hour immersive experience. A 30-strong cast and live band will bring the film to life, recreating all of the film's iconic songs including "You’re The One That I Want", "Beauty School Dropout", "Greased Lightnin", "Look At Me I’m Sandra Dee", "Summer Nights", and "We Go Together."

Audiences will step directly into the world of Rydell High, with the Frosty Palace, The Beauty School, The Carnival, The Gym, The Autoshop and La Cafury Beauty School all brought to life.

The creative team includes Choreographer Jennifer Weber (& Juliet), Director Matthew Costain, Set Designer Tom Rogers, Lighting Designer Howard Hudson, Sound Designer Gareth Fry, and Video Designer Ian William Galloway.

Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical will play for a strictly limited run from 1 August - 7 September at Evolution London. Future productions based on other iconic titles for 2026 and 2027 will be announced by Secret Cinema later in the year.
