‘Jerusalem', starring Mark Rylance, announces full casting

Mackenzie Crook will also reprise his acclaimed role.

Ahead of Jerusalem returning to the West End this spring, the full cast is now revealed. Jerusalem begins previews at the Apollo Theatre on 16 April, ahead of an opening night on 28 April and performances to 7 August.

Mark Rylance will reprise his Olivier-winning and Tony-winning performance as Johnny “Rooster” Byron. Mackenzie Crook also returns to Jerusalem as Ginger.

The Jerusalem cast includes Kemi Awoderu as Pea, Alan David as The Professor, Shane David-Joseph as Mr Parsons, Gerard Horan as Wesley, Ed Kear as Davey, Charlotte O’Leary as Tanya, Indra Ové as Dawn, Jack Riddiford as Lee, Barry Sloane as Troy Whitworth, Niky Wardley as Linda Fawcett and Eleanor Worthington-Cox as Phaedra.

Kobe Champion-Norville, Jesse Manzi and Matteo Philbert will share the role of Marky. The Jerusalem cast also features Abigail Green, Amanda Gordon, Callum Sheridan-Lee, Greg Snowden and Anthony Taylor, with final casting at a later date.

Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem play follows wanted man Johnny "Rooster" Byron who is being chased down by the council, gangsters and his friends. After a world premiere at the Royal Court in 2009, Jerusalem transferred to the Apollo Theatre and on Broadway, earning nominations for Best Play in the West End and on Broadway.

Ian Rickson directs Jerusalem, and the original creative team will return: design by ULTZ, lighting design by Mimi Jordan Sherin, composition by Stephen Warbeck, and sound design by Ian Dickinson for Autograph.

Jerusalem is at the Apollo Theatre.
