UPDATE: The complete cast of John Gabriel Borkman has now been announced. Newly announced cast members include Sebastian De Souza as Erhart Borkman, Daisy Ou as Frida Foldal, Laila Rouass as Fanny Wilton, and Michael Simkins as Wilhelm Foldal.

Two new cast members will join the Tony-winning actor, Simon Russell Beale, in John Gabriel Borkman. John Gabriel Borkman begins previews at the Bridge Theatre on 24 September, with an opening night on 29 September, and performances to 26 September.

Simon Russell Beale will play the eponymous role. He recently won a Tony Award for Best Actor for The Lehman Trilogy. At the Bridge Theatre, he’s starred in A Christmas Carol and Bach & Sons.

Clare Higgins will play Gunhild Borkman. The Olivier-winning actress is best known for starring in Sweet Bird of Youth, Hecuba, and Vincent in Brixton. Lia Williams will play Ella Rentheim. She recently appeared in The Night of the Iguana at the Noel Coward Theatre.

The John Gabriel Borkman play features direction by Nicholas Hytner, set designs by Anna Fleischle and costume designs by Liam Bunster.
