After the West End transfer of Love Letters was forced to suspend performances, A. R. Gurney's play will return to London this May. Love Letters will resume at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 19 May - 13 June, with its stars returning to the show too.

The Pulitzer Prize-nominated play sees Andrew Makepeace Ladd III accept an invitation to a woman's birthday party. The woman in turn, named Melissa, writes a thank you note, and a new friendship is born lasting over half a century.

Judge John Deed's Martin Shaw reprises the role of Andrew, previously starring in A Man For All Seasons and An Ideal Husband at Theatre Royal Haymarket. Jenny Seagrove reprises her performance as Melissa, last at the Haymarket in How The Other Half Lives. Love Letters is directed by Roy Marsden.

Love Letters will reopen Theatre Royal Haymarket from mid-May, when theatres are allowed to reopen for socially distanced performances. Other theatres opening at the same time include Six at the Lyric Theatre and Everybody's Talking About Jamie at the Apollo Theatre.

Only Fools and Horses: The Musical will return to the Theatre Royal Haymarket, with further details to be announced.

Love Letters is at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 19 May - 13 June.
