Soap actress Michelle Collins will star in a new fringe production of The Glass Supper at the Hampstead Theatre Studio Downstairs, north London, from 25 June to 26 July 2014.

Presented by Moya Productions and Tackroom Theatre, the play is written by the BAFTA-nominated writer Martun Hesford, and directed by Abbey Wright. It is described as "a comic new drama about the search for love and sex in the modern world".

Collins became a household name after starring in the BBC1 soap opera 'Eastenders' where she created the role of Cindy Beale, staying with the show for ten years. She was most recently seen on screen behind the bar of the Rovers Return as bar manager Stella Price. Her West End credits include 'Rattle of a Simple Man' at the Comedy Theatre, 'Daddy Cool the Musical' at the Shaftesbury, and 'Have You Ever Fallen In Love?' at the Apollo Theatre. She has toured the UK in productions of 'Never Forget the Musical' and the stage adaptation of 'Calendar Girls'.

The Glass Supper follows Marcus and Colin who have escaped the high life of London to settle in the peaceful countryside. Their new life is soon shattered as Steven and his beautiful young boyfriend Jamie arrive with the enigmatic Wendy for supper.

Tackroom Theatre was founded in 2013 by Abbey Wright with the aim to create new work.
