Paul Whitehouse to return to ‘Only Fools and Horses: The Musical’ at Theatre Royal Haymarket
The Trotters are back in the West End.
Only Fools and Horses: The Musical will reopen in the West End, forming part of the television show's 40th anniversary celebrations. Only Fools and Horses: The Musical performances resume at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 1 October, with Paul Whitehouse reprising his role.
Speaking about the musical's West End return, Paul Whitehouse said: "I'm over the moon, because finally, the West End is coming back to life and Only Fools and Horses The Musical will return to the Theatre Royal Haymarket this October. The last year or so has been very difficult for a lot of people, so I know I speak for the whole cast when I say hat we genuinely cannot wait to get back on stage in front of a live audience - we've missed it so much. Roll on 1st October, we can't wait to see you. Mange tout!"
Joining Whitehouse once more are Tom Bennett who will reprise the role of Del Boy, with Ryan Hutton reprising his role as Rodney. Further casting is to be confirmed.
Based on the hit BBC sitcom of the same name, Only Fools and Horses: The Musical features an original script and score by Whitehouse and Jim Sullivan. The original series starred David Jason as Del Boy, with Nicholas Lyndhurst as Rodney.
In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Mark Shenton said: "This musical tries to hold back the years, too, providing an instant flashback... there are occasional pleasures to be had in moments when it hews most closely to its origins."
