The pair will make their London stage debuts in the world premiere. Ashley Robinson adapts Annie Proulx’s short story. Brokeback Mountain opens at @sohoplace.

Ahead of Brokeback Mountain opening in London, check out Mike Faist and Lucas Hedges in rehearsals. Brokeback Mountain begins performances at @sohoplace on 10 May, with an opening night on 18 May, and performances to 12 August.

Based on Annie Proulx's short story, and the 2003 film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, the Brokeback Mountain play follows two young workers — Ennis del Mar and Jack Twist. While working at a Wyoming sheep farm one summer, they form a life-changing bond.

Lucas Hedges will play Ennis del Mar and Mike Faist will play Jack Twist, joined by Eddi Reader as the Balladeer, Emily Fairn as Alma, Paul Hickey as Older Ennis, and Martin Marquez as Joe/Bill/Jack's Father. Jonathan Butterell directs, with set and costume design by Tom Pye, lighting design by David Finn, and sound design by Christopher Shutt.
