Crazy for You is a romantic musical comedy with a book by Ken Ludwig and music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin. It is largely based on the 1930 musical "Girl Crazy" by the Gershwin brothers, with some modifications to the plot and song list. The show premiered on Broadway in 1992 and won several Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The story is set in the 1930s and follows Bobby Child, a young banker sent to foreclose on a failing theatre in a small Nevada town. Instead of carrying out his assignment, he falls in love with the theatre owner's daughter, Polly, and decides to win her heart by producing a musical extravaganza. Crazy For You features classic Gershwin songs like "I Got Rhythm," "Embraceable You," "Nice Work If You Can Get It," and many more.
