‘The Woman in Black’ to close in the West End

The ghost story will continue to March 2023.

The Woman in Black has played over 13,000 performances in the West End and been seen by over 7-million people in the UK.

“Since commissioning Stephen Mallatratt to write me a ghost story for Christmas to present for three and a half weeks at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Autumn of 1987, The Woman in Black has been a significant part of my life for a third of a century - and counting!,” said director Robin Herford.

The Woman in Black play follows lawyer Arthur Kipps as he recalls his terrifying experiences to an actor in the hopes of exorcising his fears. Find out more about The Woman in Black in the West End.

The Woman in Black currently stars Julian Forsyth as Arthur Kipps and Matthew Spencer as The Actor. Robin Herford directs, with designs by Michael Holt and lighting by Kevin Sleep.

When is The Woman in Black closing in London?

The Woman in Black will close in the West End on 4 March 2023. The Woman in Black is currently the second longest-running play in London, behind The Mousetrap.
