‘Tina the Musical’ to return to Aldwych Theatre in 2021
A West End reopening date has been set for 5 August 2021.
The upcoming West End reopening date for Tina the Musical has been pushed back by a month. Originally scheduled to reopen from 3 June, Tina the Musical performances will now resume at the Aldwych Theatre from 5 August 2021, with Tina the Musical tickets on sale now.
Chronicling the life of vocal legend Tina Turner, the musical includes her greatest hits including "Proud Mary", "River Deep Mountain High" and "(Simply) The Best". The musical opened at the Aldwych Theatre in 2018, and was nominated for three Olivier Awards including Best New Musical. Find out more about Tina the Musical with our London Theatre guide.
Aisha Jawando will return to the production as Tina, previously in Motown The Musical at the Shaftesbury Theatre and Beautiful - The Carole King Musical at the Aldwych. Jammy Kasongo will play Ike Turner, with Chanel Jaynes making her London stage debut as the alternate Tina.
Joe Evans plays Phil Spector and Terry Britten, with Irene Myrtle Forrester as GG, Francesca Jackson and Alice Bailey Johnson as Rhonda Graam, Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky as Alline Bullock, Matt Mills as Richard Bullock, Posi Morakinyo as Raymond Hill, Garmon Rhys as Roger Davies, Joseph Richardson as Erwin Bach and Madeline Appiah as Zelma.
Casting is completed by Lori Barker, Kelly Hampson, Chris Grahamson, Paul Mukembo, Alex Okoampa, Samara Casteallo, Mia Musak, Anu Ogunmefun, Derek Aidoo, Joshua Da Costa, Livvy Evans, Raquel Jones, DeeArna McLean, Michael Thomas, Saran Webb, Samuel J Weir,Tia Murrell, Rae Ann Quayle, Poppy Cunningham, Shai Codrington, Sophia Anne Angiama, Mia Jones, Elias Agbodan George, Remi Dabiri-McQuaid and Romell Barrocks-Bedeau.
