Two-time Olivier Award winner Tracie Bennett and Eastenders star John Partridge will lead the cast of The Code, a play by Michael McKeever at Southwark Playhouse Elephant. Performances run from 12 September to 11 October, with an opening night on 17 September.

The Code explores the politics, power dynamics, and unspoken rules of Hollywood then and now. The play centers on famed actress Tallulah Bankhead (Bennett) as she pays a visit to Billy Haines (Partridge), a former screen star-turned-interior designer who may or may not be planning to disappear from the town he once ruled. The production also stars Nick Blakeley as agent Henry Willson and Solomon Davy as Willson's protégé Chad Manford.

Drama Desk Award winner and Tony nominee Christopher Renshaw (We Will Rock You) will direct. The Code also features set and costume design by Ethan Cheek and lighting design by Jack Weir. Additional creative team members have yet to be announced.
