New musical
Lulu
Adaptation

The affecting real-life tale of a pioneering Black teacher and author, E. R. Braithwaite, comes to the stage as a new musical – and you can get an early glimpse in this concert event. The story was previously told in the acclaimed 1967 movie, which starred Sidney Poitier and the British musical legend Lulu. She had a career-launching hit single with the film’s theme song.

Now Lulu stars in John Farrar and Kara DioGuardi’s much-anticipated musical theatre adaptation, directed by Sheldon Epps at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The concert also sees American actor Wayne Brady making his West End debut: his work includes Kinky Boots, Moulin Rouge! The Musical and The Wiz on Broadway, and TV show How I Met Your Mother.
