The Kit Kat Club in London is a refurbished Playhouse Theatre. The Playhouse Theatre opened in 1882, and was originally called the Royal Avenue Theatre. After 23 years of production, the theatre was closed for refurbishment. Sadly, renovation works killed six people as the roof of Charing Cross railway station collapsed during the refurbishment.
The Playhouse Theatre then reopened in 1907. Early shows include plays by George Bernard Shaw, as well as performances from the Almeida Theatre. More recently, the Playhouse has been home to West End revivals including An Inspector Calls, 1984 and La Cage Aux Folles.
After a world premiere at the Young Vic, The Jungle transferred to the Playhouse Theatre in 2018. To stage the production, the auditorium was redesigned to allow for audiences to sit on multiple sides of the stage.
The Playhouse Theatre has a seating capacity of 786 seats - Stalls, Dress Circle and Upper Circle. The Playhouse Theatre was renovated in order to house Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.
Cabaret is at the Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse Theatre. The Playhouse Theatre is located in the West End and is close to the Trafalgar Theatre.
Venue opens 75min before showtime.
Please arrive with plenty of time, latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval.
