We’re sailing back on the S. S. America, as Anything Goes returns to the Barbican in 2022. Anything Goes tickets are available on London Theatre now.
Anything Goes is a musical set on a cruise liner heading from New York to London. It’s not all smooth sailing for those on board the S. S. American though. Sometimes destiny and the path to true love needs a bit of guidance, including a crew of singing and dancing sailors and disguises. Will stowaway Billy Crocker and heiress Hope Harcourt have their happy ending? "Anything Goes" on board this ship.
The London musical revival of Anything Goes was first staged on Broadway in 2011, starring Sutton Foster as Reno Sweeney. On Broadway, Anything Goes won three Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Anything Goes then played a summer run at the Barbican in 2021, and the show was extended numerous times due to audience demand.
The 2022 Anything Goes London production stars Kerry Ellis as Reno Sweeney, and Bonnie Langford as Evangeline Harcourt. Denis Lawson will play Moonface Martin, and Simon Callow will play Elisha Whitney.
Anything Goes features music by the iconic American composer and lyricist, Cole Porter. Songs in Anything Goes include “I Get A Kick Out of You”, “Friendship” and “You’re The Top”. Other notable songs by Cole Porter include “Too Darn Hot” from Kiss Me, Kate and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”.
