Billy Porter is starring as The Emcee alongside Marisha Wallace's Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in the West End.
Porter made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of the original 1991 Broadway production Miss Saigon, and his breakthrough stage role came in 1994 in Grease.
His biggest stage role to date has been the drag queen Lola, which he originated, in the Broadway premiere of Kinky Boots in 2013, winning him the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. He returned to the role for a limited engagement from 2017-18.
Recently, Porter played Pray Tell in TV series Pose — about New York City's ball culture — which earned him an Emmy Award as well as Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award nominations.
