
Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, Trevor Dion Nicholas is perhaps best known in the UK for originating the role of the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin.
Graduating from Morgantown High School, he pursued college education in his home state at West Virginia University. His Broadway debut was in Disney’s Aladdin as the standby Genie to James Monroe Iglehart, before starring in the musical’s London production at the Prince Edward Theatre as the Genie. In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, “Trevor Dion Nicholas's Genie leads the riotous Friend Like Me that virtually stops the show… He is the comic heart of the show”. He's also played George Washington in the West End production of Hamilton.
In the United States, Dion Nicholas has appeared in productions of Ragtime, The Wiz and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
He currently starring as Hades in Hadestown in the West End.
