New theatres pop up all the time around the capital, but this autumn, a very special production is running in one of the country's most-visited tourist attractions.

The Wider Earth follows the first voyage of a young Charles Darwin, and is being staged at the Jerwood Gallery at the Natural History Museum, aptly situated just beside the Darwin Centre.

Bradley Foster plays Darwin, but a very different version to the bearded Darwin we may be used to, whose statue overlooks the museum. In the play, a fresh-faced Darwin discovers species never-before-discovered by naturalists, and it sets the tone for a career of a man whose theories shaped the way we look at the world.

During rehearsals, we spoke to Foster about playing Darwin, and what makes the show so special.

The Wider Earth is at the Natural History Museum until 30th December.

The Wider Earth tickets are available now.
