Theatre stars shone bright at the Oscars.

From Sally Bowles to Shakespeare: One of the banner wins at the Academy Awards ceremony on 15 March was Jessie Buckley's for Hamnet, in which she plays Shakespeare's wife, Agnes. But theatre fans, of course, will always know her as an Olivier winner for playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret in London.

The ceremony also showcased numerous actors who'll be on Broadway this spring. Best Actress nominee Rose Byrne and presenter Maya Rudolph (who reunited with Byrne and their Bridesmaids co-stars) will be in Fallen Angels and Oh, Mary!, respectively. Plus, last year's Best Actor winner and 2026 presenter Adrien Brody reprises his Olivier-nominated performance from London in The Fear of 13.

The Book of Mormon celebrates its 15th anniversary.

Audiences have been saying hello to The Book of Mormon on Broadway for 15 years, and a special anniversary performance on 19 March commemorated the milestone. The celebrations will continue with "Magical Mormon Mystery Week" from 9-14 June, a first-of-its-kind event in which original cast members Andrew Rannells, Josh Gad, Nikki M. James, and Rory O'Malley, plus the show's creators and other guests, will appear during various moments of every performance.

Two Dancing With the Stars partners will reunite once more.

The only thing more exciting to fans of Dancing With the Stars — the U.S.'s answer to Strictly Come Dancing — than contestant Whitney Leavitt starring in Chicago is her ballroom-pro partner, Mark Ballas, joining the cast with her. A Broadway veteran himself, he'll play Billy Flynn to Leavitt's Roxie Hart from 6 April to 3 May only.

Women's History Month took the spotlight.

Broadway had plenty to celebrate for Women's History Month, observed every year in March. New York Theatre Guide's staff shouted out 16 women, both on stage and behind the scenes, whose work you can see in NYC right now. March may be ending, but you can support these brilliant female artists all year round.
