
Principal casting revealed for 'Cloud 9' at the National Theatre
Dominic Cooke directs a new production of Cloud 9, which follows a family in Victorian Africa, who turn up 100 years later in 1970s London.
Principal casting has been announced for Caryl Churchill's Cloud 9, which opens in the Lyttelton theatre at the National on 2 November running through 13 January 2027.
Dominic Cooke (The Normal Heart) reunites with Churchill to direct a new production that brings fresh urgency to this satirical classic about a family in Victorian Africa, which turns up 100 years later in 1970s London.
Casting includes Rebecca Humphries, Eloka Ivo, Tom Mothersdale, Charlotte Ritchie, Ellen Robertson, Stuart Thompson and Sam Troughton.
The creative team also includes set designer Miriam Buether, costume designer Samuel Wyer, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, sound designer Donato Wharton, dialect coach Penny Dyer, and voice coach Shereen Ibrahim.
