Amy Adams is best known for starring in films such as Enchanted, American Hustle and Big Eyes. On stage, she has played the Baker's Wife in a New York revival of Into the Woods, and will soon star in the upcoming Dear Evan Hansen film as Cynthia Murphy.

Told as a memory play, The Glass Menagerie follows Amanda Wingfield, and her children Tom and Laura as they live together in St. Louis. The Glass Menagerie is by Tennessee Williams, and is based on characters in his own family.

The role of Tom will be shared by The Inheritance's Paul Hilton and The Ferryman's Tom Glynn-Carney. Lizzie Annis and Victor Alli complete the cast.

Jeremy Herrin will direct The Glass Menagerie, altering the text to allow Hilton and Glynn-Carney the opportunity to play the same role. The Glass Menagerie is also the first production to be staged by a new entertainment company, Second Half Productions, launched by Herrin, Alan Stacey and Rob O'Rahilly. Speaking about Second Half Productions, Herrin said: "We are all thrilled that Amy Adams is joining us on our first venture, and we look forward to further announcements of new plays, timely revivals and exciting musicals in due course."

The creative team for The Glass Menagerie includes scenic design by Vicki Mortimer, lighting design by Paule Constable and video design by Ash J Woodward.
