Be More Chill to receive UK premiere at The Other Palace in 2020
After a Broadway premiere earlier this year, it has been announced that Be More Chill will receive its London debut at The Other Palace in February 2020.
Based on Ned Vizzini's 2004 novel of the same name, Be More Chill follows Jeremy Heere, a teenage boy who just wants to be popular. Desperately trying to fit in and be noticed, he finds out about 'The Squip'.
Be More Chill will begin previews at The Other Palace on 12th February 2020, ahead of an official opening night on 18th February 2020. It will then run for a limited engagement to 3rd May 2020.
Be More Chill features an original book by Joe Tracz and an original score by Joe Iconic, which was nominated for a Tony Award for best original score at the 2019 Tony Award. Songs from the 2019 Broadway cast recording have accumulatively been streamed over 318 million times.
Casting for Be More Chill is to be announced.
The creative team for Be More Chill includes direction by Stephen Brackett, choreogprahy by Chase Brock, set design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Bobby Frederick Tilley, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau and sound design by Ryan Rumery.
In a review for New York Theatre Guide, Be More Chill is a musical that is "sure to strike a responsive note with audiences of all ages".
Be More Chill is at The Other Palace from 12th February to 3rd May 2020.
