'Burlesque' musical sets new UK tour dates, postpones London run to 2027

The Burlesque musical has named new dates for its upcoming UK engagements, including its UK tour and its London run at The Arts at Marble Arch.

The UK tour will now begin in Sunderland on 6 August as "final technical preparations" are made, per a statement from the production. The tour was initially set to begin in Woking on 25 July; performances in that city have been moved to November. Woking ticketholders will be contacted regarding exchange and refund options.

The tour will stop at a total of 24 UK venues, ending in Canterbury in May 2027.

Additionally, Burlesque's London run has been postponed to 2027, with exact dates to be announced. Performances were originally set to run at The Arts at Marble Arch from 12 September to 31 January 2027.

“This is absolutely a postponement, not a cancellation. We are already exploring opportunities for a major London return in 2027 and look forward to announcing our future West End home in due course," the producers said in a statement.

Based on the same-named movie, Burlesque follows Ali as she enters the New York burlesque scene while looking for her estranged mother. The show features songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley, Todrick Hall, and Steven Antin, who is also the show's writer and creative director. Racky Plews directs, and Robin Antin and Aaron Renfree choreograph.
